Vintage Action Man

Updated 28/01/02

The genesis of it being the discovery of an old Action Man in my wife's house, completely naked...poor chap.  After mounting a recovery operation in my parent's home and finding a trove of Action Man figures, uniforms and weapons I did a quick web search to find replacement hands + heads.  Only to find Cotswold's Elite Brigade (wow) and 21st Century (just about to enter the fray - whatever happened you buddy ?) and a Hong Kong based company called Dragon about to launch the first Hans.  What timing eh ?  Here's some pix for you old timers.  Leave the cursor on them for commentaries.
I still have nightmares about the destruction we wreaked on these poor plastic guys....

The Australian Jungle fighter - belonged to one of my older borthers, and is ,technically, older than I am ! On a later model Muscle body Vintage LRDG/SAS - I think I got this guy in 1984, around the time Palitoy were closing down. I also got the Afrika Korps figure but he was broken or something so I brought him back to change him....why ?!?!??! L to R - French Foreign Legion (belt missing), British Tommy (helmet strap broken), Mountain climber guy, German stormtrooper (complete !), LRDG guy, Panzer captain (nice, complete), Red Devil parachutist (on some clone body ?!), Action Man Transport Command ! - 2 x paras, 1 tank commander, 1 field officer and judging by his slant, 1 very drunk officer (missing the Sam Browne belt though), tent, Cherilea armoured car and a rfile rack with guns ! All the previous on a nice day out - sun isn't too common here, so they're always eager for a run in the country.... And more of the Transport Command picnic. Scorpion tank, field radio, soldier and Tom Stone - no, only joking, in reality a Lanard figure sporting Tom's gear RAF Ground crew uniform operating the Searchlight - does it work ? I dunno, I'm afraid to put batteries in it in case it blows up =0 Ok, I'm showing off now - Scoprion tank, 1 of 2 jets, some bikes, helicopters and jeeps. And some guns...I told them not be leaving their guns around ! The plastic bag with "pink things in it" are some old AM bodies being restrung.
